혀 지도는 틀렸다
교과서에서 본 '혀의 부위별 맛 지도'는 사실 잘못 알려진 거예요. 1900년대 초 독일 논문을 나중에 잘못 옮기면서 퍼졌고, 실제로는 혀의 어느 부위든 다섯 가지 맛을 모두 느낄 수 있어요. 부위마다 민감도가 조금 다를 뿐이에요.

The tongue map myth · Sweet at the tip, sour on the sides? Not true
The textbook 'tongue map' with zones for each taste is wrong. It spread from a mistranslation of an early-1900s German paper, and in fact every part of the tongue can sense all five basic tastes. Sensitivity just varies a little by area.
