망막에서 시신경이 빠져나가는 자리에는 빛을 느끼는 세포가 없어서, 한쪽 눈마다 안 보이는 점이 있어요. 평소엔 다른 쪽 눈이 채워 주고, 뇌가 주변 모습으로 빈자리를 메워서 알아채지 못해요. 한쪽 눈을 감고 간단한 그림으로 찾아볼 수 있어요.

The blind spot · Everyone has a hole in their vision
Where the optic nerve leaves the retina there are no light-sensing cells, so each eye has a spot that sees nothing. Normally the other eye covers it, and your brain fills the gap with the surroundings, so you never notice. You can find it with one eye closed and a simple drawing.
